We collect used glasses and breathe new life into them. Partnering with Danish opticians, we provide eye tests and distribute free glasses to communities in northern Pakistan and Somalia. Have a pair of glasses gathering dust? Get in touch — and we'll make sure they reach someone who needs them.

Funeral support for vulnerable minorities
Every year, between 20 and 50 people with minority backgrounds in Denmark pass away without relatives or a network to take care of their burial. Municipalities typically offer cremation, which may be contrary to the deceased's cultural or religious background. We work to ensure they receive a burial in accordance with their beliefs.

Alongside our main work, we run smaller projects for the benefit of the vulnerable. For example, we have delivered clothing to long-term patients at the closed psychiatric ward in Glostrup and delivered duvets to shelters. We also distribute food and sanitary supplies to homeless people on the streets of Copenhagen. If you have a sleeping bag you would like to donate, or an idea for an initiative, please get in touch.
Who we are
Nasims Global Rahma Initiative is a Danish charitable organisation founded in 2024. The organisation is named after Nasim Irani and aims to carry forward her philanthropic work, with a focus on compassion and care for all — regardless of background, faith or nationality. Our mission is through emergency relief, social support and humanitarian projects to create a world where rahma knows no boundaries.

Former diplomat and civil servant. Most recently served as Desk Officer for Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran and Qatar at the European Commission.
Babar Baig, Chief Operating Officer
Co-founder of WriteReader and former Vice Chairman of Danish Muslim Aid. 20 years of experience in startups and business management.
Peter Helnæs, Chief Programming Officer
Specialist with solid experience in humanitarian work, including the design of country programmes, project auditing and monitoring.
Vibeke Spange, Optical Specialist
Optometrist specialising in visual rehabilitation. Has for a number of years been affiliated with Rigshospitalet, the Department of Ophthalmology at the Kennedy Centre.
